IWWF WATERSKI ATHLETE OUTSCORES 16 MAJOR SPORTS AND WINS GLOBAL ACCLAIM IN INTERNATIONAL WORLD GAMES ASSOCIATION JANUARY POLL

With over 260,000 votes cast for 21 major sports in the annual January IWGA global Poll, Iran’s twenty-three year old Sport Climbing world record holder Reza Alipourshenazandifar has just taken the title of Athlete of the Year 2017. Power Lifting and Speed Skating took second and third place.

Scoring ahead of sixteen other major sports, including Archery, Karate, Squash, and Gymnastics, Waterski super-star Natallia Berdnikava took 5th place – the highest of any waterski athlete to date. What a fantastic year it has been for Natallia! Her double gold medal victory in the 2017 World Games in Poland added even further to her extraordinary career achievements of three IWWF Waterski World Jump Records, three World Tricks Records and three Waterski Overall World Records.

Seeing Waterski highlighted throughout January in this global IWGA Poll helps to remind this global IWGA sports audience that the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation is a major player in the sports world. Congratulations to Natallia Berdnikava for representing all our Disciplines so well.
