At total of 40,203 votes were counted in the annual International World Games (IWGA) Athlete of the Year Poll. Topping the list with a huge majority was Sweden’s 28 year-old Sofia Olofsson with15,816 online votes. Clearly MuayThai fighters have very supportive online fans. This Martial Art combat event is Thailand’s national sport. Speed Climbing and Powerlifting came second and third.
Our own World Jump Record Holder Freddy Krueger USA made it all the way through to the final group. With 16 competing champions to contend with in very different sports, thank you all for supporting Freddy over this past month. Already he is listed to take part in Melbourne’s Moomba Masters on March 10/13 and hopefully we will also enjoy his extraordinary talents in the 2017 World Games in Poland in July.
