This week, Kuno Ritschard, IWWF President attended the PASO General Assembly with Jose Antonio Perez Priego, President of the IWWF Pan American Region.

The Pan American Sports Organisation (PASO) is the international organization which represents the 41 National Olympic Committees of North America and South America. Since 1951, it’s best known event is the Pan American Games, held every four years and of great importance to our sport.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach, praised the Pan American Sports Organization’s “excellent job and great achievements” over the past two years at this 54th General Assembly in Uruguay.

President Bach noted the “speedy consideration” by countries in the Americas of the IOC’s 2020 agenda, with proposals by the international organization to all of its regional entities.

PASO also elected a new president at its two-day general assembly.

Chilean Olympic Committee President Neven Ilic was chosen by a narrow majority of one vote to succeed Uruguay’s Julio Cesar Maglione.
